First CIL User Meeting
When:
13th November 2023, 12:00 am
We are pleased to announce the first CIL User Meeting, which will be preceded by a CIL training and followed by the CCPi Working Group meeting and a CIL user support/hackathon.
The main event will take place at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) , with accommodation available at Cosener’s House in Abingdon. Transportation will be provided between RAL and Cosener’s House.
The CIL User Meeting will be an opportunity for CIL users to meet and share CIL-based work, experiences, feature requests etc. with the developer team as well as other users. We hope it will be the beginning of an annual user meeting series aimed at growing a strong community of CIL users not just online but also in the physical world to allow more knowledge sharing and support.
The Working Group meeting is held by CCPi twice per year. Here, we meet to review current progress and future plans for the CCP. Everyone is welcome to join, to learn about what’s going on in CCPi, and our range of software tools, or to contribute their ideas or requirements for future work. At the same time as the Working Group Meeting, we will be running tours of facilities at RAL.
Accommodation: We have made a block reservation at Cosener’s House in Abingdon. If you requested accommodation with us your booking is confirmed.
Transport: If you’re joining us at Cosener’s House on Monday 13th November, local buses and taxis are available from Didcot Parkway and Oxford railway stations to Abingdon town centre, which is a short walk to Cosener’s House. Parking is also available on site.
The bus to RAL is at 8:15 on Tuesday and 9:00 on Wednesday. Gather outside Cosener’s House, to walk to the bus stop a short walk away at The Nag’s Head bus stop.
If you’re joining us directly at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) on Tuesday 14th November, please navigate to RAL reception for registration. Directions to RAL are available here.
Note there will be no return transport from RAL on Wednesday. Local buses are available to Didcot Parkway railway station and Oxford.
