The CIL team will be at ToScA UK & Europe 2025 at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility, 10th – 12th September 2025. Sign up here if you want to join us!
We’ll be around all week to learn about exciting developments in the CT community as well as running a workshop on the afternoon of the 10th September. Register to join the CIL workshop when you sign up if you want to join us, spaces are limited.
The Core Imaging Library (CIL): open source tomography reconstruction for FAIR data analysis
In this interactive session you will learn how to use the Core Imaging Library (CIL) to build transparent and reproducible pipelines for processing raw CT data into reconstructed image volumes. Designed for CT reconstruction of cone and parallel beam data, CIL is an open-source Python package with a particular focus on challenging datasets. It combines user-friendly data handling with state-of-the-art methods in inverse problems, making iterative reconstruction methods more accessible to CT experts. Participants will gain hands-on experience using CIL, covering how to:
– Load and understand a variety of data;
– Perform common pre-processing steps;
– Reconstruct data with filtered back projection and iterative reconstruction;
– Understand results with a suite of visualisation tools.
Participants will access interactive notebooks and exercises via our cloud platform. After the workshop, join our growing CT community for ongoing help and collaboration.
