Llion Evans

Project Co-Investigator

Dr Llion Evans held an EPSRC Manufacturing Research Fellowship (In-line virtual qualification from 3D X-ray imaging for high-value manufacturing, EP/R012091/1) at the Zienkiewicz Institute, Swansea University. His main research interests are image-based simulation and its application in High-Value Manufacturing to quantify the impact of microscale features on macroscale performance.

He holds Honorary Research appointments at UKAEA and STFC. He is Director of the Advanced Data-Driven Engineering Design centre at Swansea University, Executive Member of the Collaborative Computational Project in Tomographic Imaging (CCPi, EP/T026677/1) and Chair of the annual event Image-Based Simulation for Industry (IBSim-4i). His goal is to encourage and support adoption of advanced non-destructive testing and evaluation techniques (NDT/NDE) within the advanced manufacturing sector, particularly within the context of Industry 4.0. With these roles he aims to grow the research community in this field in order to facilitate knowledge transfer between academia and industry.
